Crit Nites is a supportive and inclusive opportunity for contemporary working artists to discuss their work and foster relationships in the Austin community.
We’re starting Crit Nites off virtually to keep it safe. And with any luck, we’ll be meeting in person in no time.
Want to have your work critiqued and meet some cool art peeps? Learn how to get involved below.
Crit Nites Virtual
Crit Nites Virtual will be composed of virtual “Crit Pods” of up to five artists and a moderator to ensure an intimate and conversational experience
Meetings will be held biweekly or monthly (based on pod preference) for three consecutive months (May, June, and July 2021) over video chat
Moderators will collect artwork images and text ahead of time and compose a slideshow presentation to share during the meeting
Each artist will have ~15 minutes at each meeting to share, ask questions, and get feedback. Artists may opt out of sharing at a meeting ahead of time, but are still encouraged to participate in every discussion
Crit Nites Virtual will culminate in an online group exhibition of participating artists’ work on conceptanimals.com with a surprise in-person component that will be announced at a later date
